Wawa is offering free coffee of any size to teachers and school administrators during the month of September as part of its “Cheers to the Classrooms” program. The convenience store has stated that all of its locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, and Virginia would provide the item free of charge.
Wawa will also donate $50,000 to DonorsChoose, a nonprofit that matches donations made by individuals to classroom supply requests made by individual teachers. The firm plans to prioritize the use of the money to support K-12 remediation and re-enrollment programs for at-risk children and adolescents. Its stores will continue the holiday by making personal deliveries to roughly 1,000 classrooms and distributing special presents to educators before they go back to the classroom or administration office.
There are 275 Wawa locations in the Garden State alone, for a national total of 972 throughout the USA.
