In an effort to make classrooms safer, Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio has unveiled a grant program that will provide $57.8 million to schools throughout the state.
Commonly, one may conclude that improving the kid’s fine motor skills is crucial. But before that can happen, kids need to build up their abdominal and upper-body strength. Teaching children the correct technique to hold a pencil and having them practice is not enough; they need to begin building the major muscles needed to do so as early as possible.
The Hungarian teachers’ unions have sent a petition to the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Budapest, requesting that the Hungarian government immediately make necessary changes to the school system and increase the pay of teachers.
Literacy is a subject that is introduced to children as early as kindergarten in the United States. This is not the situation in Finland, where early on in their schooling children are encouraged to engage in play and yet go on to achieve great success in reading.
Literacy and numeracy instruction given to youngsters less than seven years old may actually be detrimental to the children’s still-evolving brains.
